Microsoft and Full Armour released a product called ADMX Migrator.

The tool enables you to migrate the windows adm templates to the new Vista/Longhorn format admx. To be able to install the ADMX Migrator you need the Microsoft Management Console 3.0, you can find the upgrade software at www.microsoft.com/downloads to upgrade your current MMC2.0 snapin if you didn't upgrade it already.

Downtime Datacrash.net

Due to a failed cpu fan the server hosting www.datacrash.net crashed a few hours ago. The fan was rapidly replaced and the server that hosts several websites among this one is up and running again.

Citrix made a little horror show how you administer the citrix environment. If you want to see if you have enabled session reliability farm wide you would normally go to the properties of your farm in the Citrix Management Console (CMC). Then hit properties and now you get the warning that the item has been moved see figure 1

Microsoft introducing Microsoft ForeFront

Since Microsoft aquired Sybari the manufacturar famous for the product Antigen for Exchange it was a bit quiet around the product. Now Microsoft anounced Microsoft ForeFront.

They not only focus on Exchange servers but also on SharepointPortal and client security. This is a new way to look at the old antigen product that it's also made suitable for client computers....

Delete *** SPAM *** mail event sink

After tired up creating rules for users that move email with a *** SPAM *** tag to the junk mail folder, we decided to script a event sink. The event sink simply delete mail with a *** SPAM *** tag, and creates a log file. 

First of all we create a few folders (in this example \\mailserver on the c and d disk):

\\mailserver\d$\Spam

                             Ham

                             Spam

                             Test

                             maillog.log

AppSense Management Suite first touches

Recently my organization purchased the much spoken about AppSense Management Suite with the hopes that this will allow us not only to control what applications run on our servers but who can access them and with the hopes that the software can help up squeeze a few more users on to each of our servers.

 

The AppSense Management Suite consists of the following core components:

AppSense Performance Manager

AppSense Application Manager

And

AppSense Environment Manager

 

This document is a product review, I will release a detailed how to shortly.

 

Please note that the contents of this document are entirely my own opinion basically introducing the software to you and what it can do. I would recommend before making a decision on whether or not to use the software you should arrange a product demonstration.
