Moving Datastore from SQL 2000 to SQL 2005 - 2006/12/05 16:09
Hi all,
Anyone migrated a SQL 2000 Citrix Datastore to SQL 2005?
Our organization is putting pressure on me to move my datastore to the SQL 2005 server but to date i've been delaying them with statements like, there is no announcement that it is supported, and the admin guide does not list it as a supported db, finally complaining of no training in the product. Despite all of this they are pushing me to go ahead!
Ok so, what we want to do is this:
• dsmaint migrate to move the datastore from SQL_Old to SQL_new • Create a new DSN pointing to the restored database • Dsmaint config with the new DSN • Restart IMA • Verify that the server is using the correct DSN - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARECitrixIMADataSourceName • If the IMA starts copy the DSN to all servers in the farm and edit the WSID to the servers name. • Execute dsmaint config on all servers in the farm. • Restart IMA on all servers in the farm
The process listed above is the process listed under support Document CTX677542 as well as a post from Jeff Pitsch. The only question mark I have in this process is that it worked fine for SQL 2000 to SQL 2000, but no one has commented on SQL 2000 to SQL 2005.
Any thoughts? The only thing I can think of is that I may need to switch to SQL 2000 compatiblity mode like one needs to for the RM Database.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Else I will be doing this next week and will post a how to after successfully moving the datastore!
Cheers Rt
