BSOD on IBM x345 after ESX Import - 2007/07/03 16:40
Purely FYI
I was having trouble trying to import an image of a fully installed IBM x345 server into my VMWare ESX 3.1 Environment.
The server would import 100% without any problems however when I attempted to start this up it would fail each time, rebooting shortly after starting the screen where the windows loader starts. The exact error message I was seeing was: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL STOP: 0x0000000A (0x00000000, 0x0000001B, 0x00000000, 0x8082909E)
This symptom may occur on any IBM Server type which has IBM Director installed.
To get around this either boot into your server using a LiveCD (Symantec LiveState Recovery CD, BartPE, etc) and rename C:WINDOWSSystem32DriversIPMI.sys to APMI.old and reboot the server. The server will then restart and should come up normally with no problems at all.
Good luck...
