 Sata disk not seen by windows xp install - 2006/04/26 18:01 I just bought a maxtor 300gig sata harddisk but when i tried to install windows on it i get the error that there is no harddisk found.

I did install windows on it but that was with my 2 ata disk attached and the windows install forced me to make a system partition on my ATA disk.

So my question is what is going wrong that the windows install can't see my disk?

 Re:Sata disk not seen by windows xp install - 2006/04/26 18:16 After some searching on the almighty google i found a post about a chipset problem with the Maxtor diamondmax 10 and my chipset Nforce4. I knew of this problem and thats why i bought a maxline 3 sata disk but it seems this one has the same problem. But there is a way to work around the problem instead of using the SATA-1 port you need to use SATA-2 and voila XP will see the disk and you can install.
