Disable performance counters - 2006/05/10 11:10 Overwelmed by performance counter events in Eventlog and certain a specific counter can be disabled?

This is the "dirty" way...:
Open exctrlst.exe (resource kit) and deselect any counter that is bothering you...

for w3svc performance counter errors type from commandline “unlodctr w3svc”. An event is logged that the counters aren’t monitored anymore. Then “lodctr w3ctrs.ini” to load the correct counters again. In the eventviewer an event is logged that the counters are functioning again...

the same goes for ftp and the virtual smtp server in iis. for the exact syntax for that do a search on support.microsoft.com
