A while ago I wrote a bit that I was gonna write an howto how you can fuse the sharepoint 2003 look&feel web interface of Jason Conger with the infocenter that Thomas Koetzing created. The problem with more people programming to change how web interfaces work is they program in there own style. Luckely for us the two styles won't bite each other and can easey be implemented so you get a SPS2003 look & feel with a infocenter and a legal banner. As you can see at figure 1 we added the Legal Statement and the infocenter from Thomas Koetzing his site to the SPS2003 of Jason Conger. The legal statement is ripped from the HP disclaimer when you logon to a insight manager web interface of a HP server :) Figure 1
First step is to implement the SPS2003 look&feel of Jason Conger , you can download it at www.jasonconger.com and after reading up you can implement it. Then you get a new look & feel that will look more professional in my opinion then the standard web interface that citrix provides. After that you can browse to www.thomaskoetzing.de and search for infocenter. This will enable you to download his hands-on lab how you can implement more goodies in the webinterface. The most important thing is that you change the layout.aspx file in the Citrix\MetaFrame\site\auth\include folder and the layout.aspx in the Citrix\MetaFrame\site\include. These 2 files control how you have to look & feel in the web interface. It took me some shufling with code from one place in the field to another place in the field but after you have it done you can show it proudly to your it management staf and say hey doesn't this look more professional then the standaard WI. I didn't include the code to get this done because it's not made by me. I simply rip and use the code of others and fused them. If you have questions how we achived this simply register yourself and ask a question in our forum
