On many forums the question's is Citrix supporting Microsoft SQL2005 server officially is asked more and more. XpKranger on brain madden forum opened a ticked for it at Citrix and he got a official answer back from a citrix engineer.
Dear customer, My name is [name removed to protect the innocent] and I am the support engineer assigned to this case. At the moment PS 4.0 is not yet fully supported when using with SQL 2005. Below you will find the Citrix Statement: This document provides information to customers who may wish to use the latest SQL 2005 Database for the following: • Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 • Resource Manager, Summary Database for Presentation Server 4.0
So conclusion, Citrix is stil testing the migration from SQL2000 to SQL2005 with all functionally's working. I would advice to wait to migrate to SQL2005 no matter what your manager is asking from you or make sure you got a e-mail from your manager that he or she demands you upgrade and keep a copy on a save place in case the farm breaks. Thanks to xpkranger for asking citrix! |
