Windows PowerShell 1.0 Documentation Pack Print E-mail
Written by Hans Straat, Tuesday, 09 January 2007

Microsoft released last year a documentation pack for Windows Powershell v1.0.

This package can be freely downloaded from Microsoft and contains following items.

  • Windows PowerShell Getting Started Guide (GettingStarted.rtf), a 32-page introduction to using the shell and the Windows PowerShell scripting language.

  • Windows PowerShell Primer (userguide.rtf), a companion document to the Getting Started Guide. It describes the features of Windows PowerShell and the Windows PowerShell scripting language with examples of how to use the new shell. The Primer helps you to convert scripts to the Windows PowerShell scripting language and explains how VB and C# developers can make the most of Windows PowerShell.

  • Windows PowerShell Language Quick Reference (quadfold.rtf), a handy, one-page foldable guide to the Windows PowerShell scripting language. This highly detailed reference is designed for all users.

  • Windows PowerShell V1.0 Release Notes (releasenotes.rtf) describe changes made to Windows PowerShell after the documentation was completed, as well as changes from previous releases.
