| Get rid of old tattoo policy settings in your registry |

Tattoo policies are policies not managed by Microsoft. So if you delete the policy the registry settings is stil there. Tattoo policies are normally used if the set provided by Microsoft isn't sufficient enough for managing applications for instance. Much engineers for instance use a custom build adobe acrobat reader policy to tweak settings. A big problem with these kind of policies is when you delete the policy the registry settings remains active. So you have to disable the policy first (resetting the registrykey to 0 ) before deleting the policy. Well I know from expirience you won't most of the time disable a policy first but simply trash it. Darren Mar-Elia founder of http://www.sdmsoftware.com and Microsoft MVP in Group Policies created the freeware tool "Clean Registry Policy Utility 1.0". which can do delete the registry.
