Managing profiles can sometimes be a burden.

Profile corruption, slow networks etc the nightmare of every administrator managing a environment with roaming profiles. Tricerat wrote a nice witepaper describing what happens when a profiles loads up and what happens actually.

The sofware they use is offcourse not freeware :) but you can test it I am sure with a traillicense. To be able to download the software you must create a useraccount (which is ofcourse free of charge) and then you can download the software.

I have not tested this yet but saw lot's of oppurtunities in easy management and fast creation of redirection etc which is saved in a local or central database configuration.

You get a nice GUI to set folder redirection, tons of GPO's you normally set with the group policy management console and you can also setup registry key's etc. Everything the group policy editor can you can do with this GUI and a bit more otherwise it would be useless ofcourse to create the softwarepackage.  

Tricerat also wrote free whitepapers about microsoft terminal server 2003 so if you're there browsing for the software check also the e-books :) you can download them for free and they are good lecture for beginning engineers/administrators who maintain terminal server environments.
